Culture of Life focus: War and Refugees
Prayer intentions:
- For an end to war and terrorism; for international solidarity in the service of peace and of an international economic order serving the common good and upholding human dignity.
- For all who die in war, soldiers and civilians, friend or foe; for all who are maimed and wounded in body and mind; for those who are hostages or prisoners of war; and for all those tortured or abused in war.
- For the families of all who lose loved ones to war.
- For all who are uprooted by war and rendered homeless, and who make perilous travels in search of a refuge and peace.
- For all who are involved in the manufacture and distribution of armaments, and both the physical equipment and ideological/cultural justifications for war, that they may find a change of heart and mind.
- For a renewed commitment to see in every “enemy” a brother or sister for whom Jesus died, and Jesus, Himself, in disguise.
For reflection: what choices can we make in solidarity with those whose lives are threatened by war: soldiers and veterans, civilians and refugees?
